2020 April

Like everyone else, we are all on Covid lockdown.
Its a very scary time for all of us.
But I am seeing some wonderful things also,
Neighbors helping neighbors, grand children skyping
with grand parents, old friends popping up just
to see how you are doing. Wonderful gestures in helping
each other.
Be reflective, there is so much to be happy for, and
even if it is an over used cliche', we WILL get past
this all.
Take care of your family , create art, read a book,
but most of all,
let the ones you love,  know it.

And if my daughter is reading this, give us a call.
Life is too short to be too busy.

take care.

Artists Rights

Id like to say something that I am very passionate about.
Artists Rights. Artists are frequently asked for item donations
and a donation of time. Too often their images are 'lifted' from the
internet with out any credit to the artist who created them.
There is a young man in large city near here who found his images
for sale on calendars and blankets by a large well known retailer,
with out his consent.  Another company had purchased the image
on a website used to promote art and photography for 1.98. The
image was then sold to the large international company, without any
payment or credit to the actual photographer of the image. He found
out when followers of his page started to show him what they had found
in the store.
Artists have intellectual rights and copy right laws that back them.

Today I renewed by membership to CARFAC Maritimes to support
and promote artists rights in this region.  The fee is nominal. And its
very important to educate the public ( and fans ) regarding copyrights
of photography or fine art images.

Please consider joining or donating to a wonder organization that
works to make the lives of artists better and give them the credit
they deserve.
